With the November 10 release date for Modern Warfare 3 looming, an open beta should be coming sooner rather than later.
This has fans wondering when the Modern Warfare 3 open beta will actually be, and we may have been given the answer thanks to an image posted online.

Modern Warfare 3 Open Beta will come to PlayStation 5 users first
Update: Activision has officially confirmed the following dates:
- October 6-7: MW3 beta PlayStation early access
- October 8-10: MW3 PlayStation open beta
- October 12-13: MW 3 beta Xbox & PC early access + PlayStation open beta
- October 14-16: MW3 open beta on all platforms
The image was posted to X (Twitter) by @Ralexxanderr and showcased what appears to be an official document from a GAMEDigital store.
The document states that “Customers that preorder will receive before launch – Beta Code to redeem prior to the start date of October 6th.”
This matches perfectly with a previous report by Bloomberg that also listed October 6 as the official Modern Warfare 3 Open Beta date for PlayStation 5 users.
When is the Modern Warfare 3 Open Beta for Xbox and PC?
For those not on PlayStation, you can expect Modern Warfare 3 Open Beta access the following weekend, starting on October 12.
- October 12-13: MW 3 beta Xbox & PC early access + PlayStation open beta
- October 14-16: MW3 open beta on all platforms
Until Activision has confirmed it, it’s still technically speculation and subject to change.
There will certainly be a beta period, and to get the best chance at getting early access, you’ll want to preorder.
